Katan silk, celebrated as one of the finest expressions of Banarasi craftsmanship, is known for its soft texture and subtle, natural sheen. Woven using the highest quality mulberry silk in both warp and weft, it follows a classic plain weave that gives the fabric its signature richness and durability.
A lighter interpretation of this weave is Silk Georgette, often referred to as Summer Silk. Crafted from pure silk using finely twisted yarns, it results in a fabric that is more fluid, airy, and lightweight than traditional Katan making it an ideal choice for warmer seasons while retaining the elegance of pure silk.
Satin Silk
Satin Silk is where pure silk is transformed through the satin weave into something truly luminous. It reveals a surface that gently gleams, while the reverse remains soft and understated creating a beautiful balance of sheen and subtlety.
Known for its fluid touch and graceful drape, it feels softer and more delicate, with a natural glide that sets it apart from Katan Silk. Woven as a warp-faced fabric, its closely set threads hold colour with remarkable depth resulting in hues that appear richer, more vivid, and effortlessly captivating.
Tussar silk
Tussar Silk, also known as Kosa Silk, is a beautiful expression of nature’s artistry, spun by silkworms that thrive on wild forest trees rather than cultivated mulberry. It carries a rich, raw texture that feels authentic and untouched, while its natural deep golden hue reflects an earthy elegance. Light, airy, and breathable, it offers a sense of comfort that is both effortless and refined making it as graceful to wear as it is timeless in appeal.
Pure Georgette
Pure Georgette is a fabric that moves with effortless grace, crafted from fine silk yarns woven in a slightly crinkled texture that gives it its signature flow. Light, airy, and softly sheer, it drapes beautifully, creating silhouettes that feel both fluid and refined. Its delicate texture adds depth while remaining comfortable and breathable, making it perfect for timeless, elegant ensembles.
Pashmina
Pashmina is a fabric of rare softness and quiet luxury, woven from the fine undercoat of Himalayan goats. Known for its feather-light feel and exceptional warmth, it drapes effortlessly while offering a gentle, comforting embrace. Smooth to the touch and timeless in appeal, Pashmina reflects true craftsmanship elegant, enduring, and deeply refined.
Tissue
Tissue is a fabric created by interweaving zari into the structural weft, paired with yarn in the warp. This unique combination lends the fabric its signature luminous quality, resulting in a surface that shimmers with understated elegance.
Kora Silk
Kora Silk, also known as Banarasi Organza, is a light and sheer fabric crafted from silk yarns that remain in their natural, un-degummed state. This preserves the yarn’s inherent crispness and airy texture, giving the fabric its distinctive lightness and subtle structure. Compared to other silks, Kora Silk feels cooler and more breathable, as the absence of degumming retains a lower yarn density.
Tussar Georgette
A graceful fusion of two pure yarns, Tussar Georgette is woven with tussar silk in the warp and high twist silk yarns in the weft. This thoughtful interplay creates a fabric that carries the rich, textured character of Tussar, complemented by the fluid drape and effortless movement of Georgette.
